Electronic monthly report

The electronic monthly report is an XML document containing the information usually submitted in the standard monthly report. This document can be securely transmitted for processing over the CPA Montréal website. Employers or their duly authorized agents must submit the report within the deadline (by the 15th of the month following the report period). The levies must be sent no later than 15 of the month by using one of these two methods: by mail or directly on-line on the website of the CPA Montréal by selecting one of the participating financial institutions.

For whom is this service intended?

All employers under the CPA Montréal's jurisdiction may use this service provided they use computerized payroll management and they have the minimum required specifications mentioned below.

How can an employer register for the service?

To register for the electronic monthly report service, employers must first ensure they have the minimum required specifications:

• Internet Explorer 6 or later or equivalent
• The ability to create XML files (for information on creating XML files, please refer to the document Electronic Transmission of the Monthly Report Using the XML Format
• A valid e-mail address
• An internet connection (high-speed recommended)
• The employer must have signed the Agreement on the electronic transmission of monthly reports between the employer and the CPA Montréal, which will be submitted after the trial period
